New motorway - outside investors

An indication of the confidence in which Sierra Leone is now held by substantial world authorities, is the financing of the new coastal highway, known as the Peninsula Road.

The Kuwaiti government has suplied 43% of the finance and OPEC the other 47%.

Mr. Albasri, the Regional Director of Burhan Construction Company said, 'I am particularly pleased to have signed the contract on behalf of our company. The presence of our company in Sierra Leone is an indication of our desire to join the people of this country in their future development.'

The Lumley to Tokeh road will have a lengthof 23 kms. and will include access roads to, and by-passes for, several villages.
